#ComePrepd is a community-driven HIV prevention campaign by QuAC to increase awareness of PrEP (Truvada) for guys who are into other guys. Through sharing of real stories and sexual experiences, we can all learn a little more about PrEP and how it can work for you.
NEWS: 09 February 2018 – Today the Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee (PBAC) recommended that PrEP be listed on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) by the Australian Government. The date for actual access through the PBS (known as the listing date) has not been announced. Click here for more info.
NEWS: 18 August 2017 – Today the Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee (PBAC) released minutes from its July 2017 where it made a decision on whether PrEP should included on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS).
The decision made by the PBAC was a “deferral decision.” Further negotiation can still occur to move the deferral decision to a positive outcome.
NEWS: 26 July 2017 – Gilead’s patent for tenofovir in Truvada (one of the drugs in Truvada) expires; the patent for emtricitabine (the other drug in Truvada) doesn’t expire until 2021.
NEWS: 6th May 2016 – TGA approves Truvada as PrEP.
